 Health of Puppies

 ​Our philosophy is to bring in the best quality puppies with good health. This is why we only work with ethical breeders and mostly import puppies with parents DNA testing for extra insurance.

The highest cost in pet ownership is the veterinary bills. There are growing number of clinics in Singapore which can charge $700-$3500 for common illnesses such as flu, diarrhoea etc by ordering expensive blood test, x-ray and other exorbitant diagnostic tests. And the bill would usually come as an unpleasant surprise.

We will recommend good vets who can diagnose and manage costs effectively. 

We can also recommend good pet insurance for those who wish for further peace of mind. 

Toilet Training

We are toilet training puppies in the shop and will give you guidance to transit into your home environment.

All puppies can be trained successfully.

We have dog trainer recommendation too should you wish to go for dog obedience class which is very useful for first time dog owner.

Grooming

We groom the puppies weekly to maintain hygiene with gentle shampoo that is proven to prevent and solve many skin issues. Check out silkydogshop.com

Ears are cleaned weekly to prevent infection which is important in humid Singapore.

Very patient, friendly and knowledgeable staff. A clean and welcoming pet shop and well looked after dogs. All checks and required documentation are done and they make sure you have everything you need and are then available for after sales care and advice if you need it. Got my son maltese from Devlin's shop! It was the best decision ever. Devlin the owner is very professional but yet friendly and patient to answer to all my questions. Especially when he was unwell, Devlin responded to all my questions even into midnight. I had difficulties feeding the medicine and was going to breakdown, Devlin and KY came to my house and help me syringe feed him. I can see Devlin and the team really care about the dogs! Doris and JJ are good assistant who advice and groom my puppy so well. I have to say everyone from The Lovely Pets are responsible, professional, yet friendly and patient. All documentations were properly prepared and handover to me. Highly recommend to those who wish to get a new furkid! Keep it up!

We have had a great experience being associated with The lovely pets ever since we got our Cavapoo last year. Devlin is patient and very committed and continues to guide us since it’s our first time. We are very pleased with Lucy, Devlin, and all the staff at The Lovely Pets. We bought our puppy pair (Golden Retriever) 2 months ago and have been impressed with the level of care and support both the puppies and ourselves have been shown. Devlin and Lucy are dedicated and knowledgeable and have spent a considerable amount of time talking with us and providing guidance on puppy ownership. Devlin gave me the best experience that I ever had buying a pet dog. He was super patient and responsively attending to every queries I have. A pet shop run by a pet lover himself is what we pet lovers need 😊 giving the best advice and consideration to our paw baby. Although I was so indecisive, he patiently helped me choose the love of my life. Doubt not on his in-house product. It really clear the odour on my pet cushion magically, instantly. Highly recommended!

Have you ever seen any pet shop staff carrying puppies like this? Me no! My very first and only.
A place very well managed and impressive staffs I witnessed. Here is a picture I captured without Kum Yoong aka KY's knowing. Puppies were so close to her and she was cuddling them like her own babies. This gave me strong faith that the well-being of all paw babies were well taken care of 😊 I can ditch my worries on socialization or dog aggression issues. I'm sure, we all want LOVELY PETS and healthy babies to bring home and not neglected ones in the glass cubicles

They are fairly intelligent, don't require a lot of maintenance, and does well with families and children. • Size: They are a small-medium sized breed, weighing between 7.7-10 kg (17-23 pounds) and standing about 13-17 inches tall at the shoulder. 
• Shedding: Yes, they shed moderately but higher during the shedding season and no they are not hypoallergenic.
• Coat: They come with thick double-coat consisting of a soft, dense undercoat covered by a harder, straight topcoat.
• Color: They come in red, black and tan, sesame, and cream.
• Body: They are sturdily muscular-built with short legs and erecting triangular with rounded corner ears.
• Temperament: They are alert, bold, loving, affectionate and exhibit high independence personality.
• Trainability:  They are highly trainable and very intelligent but can be stubborn at a time.
• Exercise needs: Shiba Inu's exercise requirement is moderate to high. A 50-75 minutes per day exercise is enough to keep your furry companion happy.
• Life span: A Shiba can live up to 12-16 years if taken care well.
• Apartment friendly: Yes, they are quite apartment-friendly, but requires a bit of space to run around.
• HDB Approved: No, Shiba Inu is not HDB Approved.
