A Snapshot of Our Grooming Process - Behind the Scenes at The Lovely Pets Salon
A Snapshot of Our Grooming Process
Sofie, a beagle came to have basic grooming and microbubble spa. Basic grooming includes cleaning of ears, cutting nails, shaving of pads, cleaning of hygiene are, anal gland expression, bath and dry. She is a senior dog and has been coming to our salon for over 5 years. Sofie had never been professionally groomed before in her 5 years of living! Considering that, she did quite well 😄 We were very happy with how clean she looked and how fresh she smelled after the grooming.
Many people think that a short haired dogs like beagles do not need to come for professional grooming. However these dogs can benefit from grooming too, as a groomer will cut the nails to the shortest possible, do a more thorough clean of the ears and shower the dog well. Not to mention, microbubble spa helps on any existing and future skin condition.
Shaving of paw pads and cutting of nails.
Cleaning of ears using a cotton wool and ear cleaning solution. It is important to get oil based ear cleaner as we don't want to get any water in the ears which may lead to infection.
Enjoying the microbubble spa after the bath!
Happy while being dried.
Brushing of undercoat.

Double coated dogs such as beagles, retrievers, sheltie needs thorough drying. Often you feel that the dog is dry when you touch the fur, but in fact the undercoat is still wet. Improper drying leads to many skin condition such as yeast infection. It is good to use a shampoo with no harsh chemical such as Silky conditioning shampoo too. Buy the Silky Shampoo here.
Here is a testimonial of a Silky user whose Westie's skin infection and itchiness went away after using Silky.
