Pomapoo requires low-moderate level of exercise and mental stimulation to stay healthy and stress-free. We recommend at least 30-40 minutes of regular exercise and mental stimulation to keep your dog happy and cheerful. It's also important to adjust the exercise duration to suit your dog. For instance, a puppy requires significantly lesser amount of exercise compared to an adult dog. Pomapoos enjoy a variety of activities, such as walking, fetching, agility training, and others. Keep in mind that they are small and non overly-energetic, so be sure not to over-exercise your dog. In summary, this breed needs daily exercise to maintain their health, wellbeing and to keep them stress-free. They don't require a lot of exercise but doenjoy a variety of activities and benefit from a mix of physical and mental stimulation. Over-exercising your dog can lead to physical injury, so make sure to keep it moderate.
Pomapoos shedding level depend on the type of coat they inherit from their parents. But generally speaking, they shed less than the pure breeds and are considerably low maintenance dog.
Here are some grooming requirements and recommendations for Pomapoo:
Brushing: Depending on the type of coat, if your canine has poodle-like fur, then we recommend grooming at least once a week whereas if it's more like a Pomeranian, then we recommend at least 1-2 times a week as it can easily get tangled. Use a mild dog shampoo (we recommend Silky shampoo) and be sure to rinse thoroughly to avoid any skin irritation. Lastly, remember to blow dry to make sure the skin is completely dry to prevent skin issues.
Trimming: They also require occasional trimming or clipping, particularly around the pads and between the toes to prevent overgrowth and tangles and maintain a tidy appearance. Bring your kennel to a professional dog groomer every 3 months for a full grooming service to get the best result.
Nail Clipping: The frequency of nail clipping depends on the surface where your dog mostly walk on. Otherwise clip your dog's nails once every 6-8 weeks are enough. But whenever you do, be sure to use a sharp, proper nail clipper and avoid cutting too close to the quick. Leave the cutting to the Professional dog groomer to avoid traumatizing the puppy if nails bleed during cutting (which is very common).
Teeth Cleaning: Regular teeth cleaning is important for your dog to prevent dental problems. Brush their teeth with a soft-bristled toothbrush and use a dog-specific toothpaste.
Ear Cleaning: Pomapoo's ears are slightly drooping, although not as much as their parents and hence we recommend moderate level of ear cleaning. For cleaning, be sure to use a gentle, dog-specific ear cleaner to prevent buildup of dirt and bacteria in the long run.
Overall, a Pomapoo is a low maintenance dog that doesn't require a lot of grooming, bathing or cleaning compared to their parent breeds. However, the level of maintenance depends on how they were bred.
